MOSCOW, Sep 6 (PRIME) -- The Russian government will raise 2017 pensions by inflation of 2016, which is projected at 5.7–5.9%, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday at a meeting with United Russia members.
“As far as next indexations are concerned, in 2017 and further, Dmitry Anatolyevich (Medvedev) has already said about it, we will reach a full-format indexation,” Putin said.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said earlier that Putin supported the government’s decision to make one-time 5,000 ruble payments to current pensioners in January 2017 instead of indexation.
“All of you know about a made decision over pension indexation in the second half of the year in the form of one-time payments of 5,000 rubles, the president has supported this approach,” Medvedev said.
